To see the skin as the soul-self

I see see the fabric of our being, our skin, as a physical container that holds our soul.

Our skin is the very fabric that holds our being, our skin is the most essential boundary to our being.

I believe there is immense sacredness to the very skin we are in and our body that is the container for our life, for our soul.

I don’t say that lightly, my skin and my body have taught me many things, the sacredness to my skin is one of the deeper lessons.

What does it take to return to what is sacred, soulful and true in relationship to the body we inhabit, the skin that is the container to our soul?

How much attention and time do you bring to when your body truly speaks?

What and who do you allow near and within your skin?

How connected are you to the signals of your body when your soul speaks?

To lose the connection to your body, everything that lives inside of your skin, is like losing your soul’s essence.

skin as a our soulful container

As women we often become emotionally brittle, depleted, or estranged from ourselves when we lose the connection to the wisdom of our body.

It is to lose our natural power, our instinctual self,

We live in a disembodied world, where it is easy to lose the connection to our bodies through societal roles, through life’s demands in patriarchal systems, cultural roles, emotional abuse, and also through trauma, heartbreak or betrayal/

If we remain disconnected from our bodies for too long, and from our soulfulness for too long, it is in our bodies that we find the proof

– It is in our chronic fatigue, repressed rage, depression and apathy, an inability to fully feel. These ‘symptoms’ often signifies a life out of rhythm with soulfulness. These are not just symptoms, they are calls from our soul for reconnection, through the wisdom of our bodies.

These soul-loss and disembodied symptoms invite a deeper listening, a return to where we truly live– in our bodies, within our skin.

If we respond with awareness, we can retrieve the connection with ourselves, with our bodies and find the sacredness that lives within our skin– and embody more of who we are.
